Papillon R32/17

Papillon is a black and white mini-lop buck born in 2017 who arrived at the end of October 2017. His mother or grandmother or great grandmother had been bought with a buck by someone who was told the pair were the same sex. Because of this mistake Rosie had litter after litter with her sons fathering further litters after the original buck died. We took her and four of her variously aged offspring including Papillon from one cage and another three from a different cage from a person who had… Read more Papillon R32/17

Pearl R27/17

Pearl is a black and white lionhead doe born in 2017 who arrived at the end of October 2017. Her mother Petunia had been rehomed as a male from the adoption section at Pet s@Home and put in with a buck. Pearl and her sister Petal were the result. The buck had either died or had been given away.  We took Petunia, Petal and Pearl and another five from a different cage from a person who had been evicted. The rabbits’ indoor cages had been stacked in an outdoor bin… Read more Pearl R27/17

Petunia R25/17

Petunia is a sooty fawn lionhead doe born in 2017 who arrived at the end of October 2017. She had been rehomed as a male from the adoption section at Pets@Home and put in with a buck. Two of the resulting litter came with her, Pearl and Petal. The buck had either died or had been given away. We took these three and another five from a different cage from a person who had been evicted. The rabbits indoor cage had been stuck into an outdoor bin cupboard with the… Read more Petunia R25/17

Saffron R19/17

Saffron is an incredibly pretty little lionhead buck with the most amazing frosted peach colouring. He was part of an accidental litter and came here in October 2017 with his littermates and parents when their previous owner moved. He lives with Saxifrage, also known as Whoopsie.

Goose R 3/17

Goose is a grey dwarf lop buck who is extremely friendly and good natured. He was born in 2016. He came to us in April 2017 with his ill companion a very fluffy lionhead Anka with lots of health problems. She eventually became paralyzed after what must have been a back injury worsened that had already caused her to self multilate both her bottom and back feet and we were forced to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep as her quality of life was just not good… Read more Goose R 3/17

Schmetterling R 5/16

Schmetterling is a large black and white lionlop doe born in about 2013 with a very fluffy coat. She came here in August 2016 after her hutch disintegrated around her. She lives with Ted and Tiger. She has gone from being suspicious of any veg that wasn’t long and orange to being a dedicated connoisseur of many delicacies, enjoying everything which she demonstrates by twitching her bottom while she eats which is how rabbits show enjoyment.

Phyllis R21/14

Phyllis is a small Netherland Dwarf cross red eyed white doe. She came from a small rescue in Gloucestershire in 2014 after having been found as a stray and handed in to a veterinary centre. She had had syphilis and so was unsuitable for rehoming. She lived with Cocoa and Biscuit in the barn at first but they had a rather tempestuous relationship and often had skirmishes but they also all snuggle up together nicely but eventually it went too far and we separated them and put Phyllis in with… Read more Phyllis R21/14

Ivy Baby R17/13

Ivy Baby is a small blue grey Netherland Dwarf cross doe. She was born in 2012. She came to us in 2013 after her owner’s other rabbit was killed by a fox as it was no longer safe to let her outside and she was rather destructive inside and did not get on with the other remaining rabbit. She now lives with Alvin and Fern in one of our enclosures.

Alvin R5/12

Alvin is a shiny black lop buck who we first got to know in 2007 when he took Pearl home to be his lovbun. After Pearl sadly passed on in 2010 he came back and took Holly home with him. When Holly became very unwell she came back to us for medical care and Alvin accompanied her. They came all the way down from Scotland because Holly needed to be here. Alvin is quite a character. His face is unbeleivably expressive, and he has fixed ideas about how the world… Read more Alvin R5/12

Mayfly R17/10

Mayfly is a very fluffy black lionhead doe. She came to us in May 2010 when she was a year old because her owner was having problems and wasn’t looking after her. She was a dreadful matted mess and was thin and frightened. I had to cut the matts off and shave her bottom. She is still nervous of people but is happy living with Poplar and Birch in one of our sheds. She has become rather fat which I can’t do anything about as both Polar and Birch are… Read more Mayfly R17/10

Rose R104/09

Rose is a blue grey lionlop doe who was about two when she came to us in October 2009. She was  part of a group of 14 who were given to us because of her owners mental health trouble. The group included Old Bonnie, who of course wasn’t Old then. They were the last rabbits that we took in with the intention of rehoming. She had had a litter but the owner wouldn’t let her babies come to us as they were so pretty. I dread to think of the… Read more Rose R104/09

Basil R130/08

Basil or Oliver as he was known before we rehomed him (because he looked just like a little doe called Olive) is a little English marked buck who first came to us on New Year’s Eve 2008 after he was found in a park in Birmingham in freezing weather. He was fully grown then so we estimate that he was born in 2007. We found him a good home, but when his partner died his person felt she needed to return him to us as she was finding rabbits and… Read more Basil R130/08

Poplar R125/08

Poplar is a black and white Dutch cross buck who came to us at just under a year old in December 2008 at the request of another rescue that was trying to close. He and his brother Humbug were fighting badly and so had each been confined to half a three foot hutch. His brother had nearly castrated him and the wound was infected. When the vet finished the job he bled badly and had to become intimate with a bag of frozen peas. It took six weeks and another… Read more Poplar R125/08

Oak R118/08

Oak is an agouti buck. He came to us in November 2008 with the rest of his littermates. They were too young to leave their mother but they all had diarrhea and one of them had prolapsed her rectum. Their owners were not prepared to take them to a vet. Despite weeks of trying we were not able to save the one with the first prolapse. Bonnie also prolapsed a few days after arriving, but because it was dealt with immediately permanent damage was not done. The litter was treated… Read more Oak R118/08

Severn R26/08

Severn is a harlequin dwarf lop buck. He came to us at just four days old with his mother, father and the rest of the accidental litter he was part of in March 2008. The whole litter was named after rivers after one of them weeed all over a visitor. He was rehomed to live with Sapphire when her sister (from another accidental litter that we took in in 2007) died in 2008 and then was returned with her when their people could no longer manage the recurrent bouts of… Read more Severn R26/08
